Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Castelo de Almourol, Quinta da Regaleira and Basilica de Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima. Get a sense of the local culture at Belém Tower and Castelo dos Mouros. Change things up with a short trip to Centro Historico de Sintra in Sintra (about 34 minutes away).

Aveiro is a city and a municipality in Portugal. Start off your visit on the 26th (Sat): pause for some serene contemplation at Igreja Matriz de Santa Maria de Válega, see the interesting displays at Oficina do Doce, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Igreja da Misericordia de Aveiro. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Capela das Almas and FC Porto Museum. Largo da Oliveira and Sameiro Sanctuary will appeal to history buffs. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Porto: Se de Braga (in Braga) and Citania de Briteiros (in Guimaraes). And it doesn't end there: take in the spiritual surroundings of Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja de Santo Antonio dos Congregados, pause for some photo ops at Monumento aos Herois da Guerra Peninsular, and take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I.
