Fort William is the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland with around 10,000 inhabitants – and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger.Fort William is a major tourist centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. On the 5th (Wed), take in the dramatic scenery at Inchree Waterfalls, then take an in-depth tour of Glencoe Folk Museum, and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Lost Valley Trail. Here are some ideas for day two: identify plant and animal life at Highland Titles Nature Reserve, then stop by Woodland Pottery, then explore the activities along Loch Shiel, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Glenfinnan Church.
