Established by presidential decree in 1831, Tacuarembo grew over time into the capital of its eponymous department, largely because of its agricultural industry fed by the Tacuarembo river that flows through the northern part of town.
Keep things going the next day: explore the world behind art at Museo de Artes Visuales de Tacuarembo (MUART), then pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Fructuosus Cathedral, and then examine the collection at Museu FordT City.
