Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Lima is known for parks, historic sites, museums, shopping, and nightlife. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: take an in-depth tour of Museo Larco, get a taste of the local shopping with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), stroll around Circuito Magico Del Agua, and explore the ancient world of Huaca Pucllana.

Porto Alegre, Brazil to Lima is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Porto Alegre to Lima. When traveling from Porto Alegre in January, plan for slightly colder days in Lima, with highs around 31°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 24°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) so you can travel to Machu Picchu.

A symbol of the Incan civilization, the abandoned city of Machu Picchu represents a must-see on a Peru vacation.
Kick off your visit on the 27th (Mon): delve into the distant past at Intipuncu and then contemplate the long history of Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu. On the next day, explore the ancient world of Winay Wayna, witness a stunning natural landmark at Hot Springs (Aguas Calientes), then stop by Mapi Art, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia Virgen Del Carmen.

Traveling by combination of flight and car from Lima to Machu Picchu takes 12 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Cap off your sightseeing on the 29th (Wed) early enough to travel to Cusco.

Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
When in Cusco, make a side trip to see Pisac in Pisac, approximately 52 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the ancient world of Sacsayhuaman, steep yourself in history at Plaza de Armas, take in the local highlights with Walking tours, and make a trip to San Blas.

You can do a combination of train and bus from Machu Picchu to Cusco in 3.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 22°C in January, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sun) to allow enough time to travel to Puno.

Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): delve into the distant past at Sillustani, then head off the coast to Taquile Island, and then take some stellar pictures from Mirador Ing. Eduardo Sanchez. Here are some ideas for day two: step off the mainland to explore Uros Floating Islands, then explore the activities along Lake Titicaca, and then make a trip to Catedral de Puno.

You can do a combination of flight and bus from Cusco to Puno in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Plan for slightly colder nights when traveling from Cusco in February since evenings lows in Puno dip to 5°C. You will have some time to spend on the 4th (Tue) before leaving for home.
