Hugging the western tip of Lake Titicaca, Puno serves as a melting pot of indigenous and imported cultures, and makes a great base for explorations around the region.
Start off your visit on the 5th (Tue): step off the mainland to explore Taquile Island, then get great views at Mirador Ing. Eduardo Sanchez, and then steep yourself in history at La Casa del Corregidor.

Manaus, Brazil to Puno is an approximately 18.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and bus. The time zone changes from Amazon Time to Peru Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. Traveling from Manaus in January, things will get cooler in Puno: highs are around 20°C and lows about 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Tue) so you can drive to Arequipa.

In an area dominated three imposing volcanoes, Arequipa vacations allow visitors to admire well-preserved colonial architecture in a dramatic setting.
Kick off your visit on the 6th (Wed): pause for some serene contemplation at Iglesia de Yanahuara ( San Juan Bautista), take in the exciting artwork at Tristan del Pozo (Continental Bank Exhibition Gallery), and then get lost in a book at San Francisco Plaza, Church and Monastery. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 7th (Thu): see the interesting displays at Santa Catalina Monastery, then enjoy the sand and surf at Playa los Arcos, and then contemplate the long history of Petroglifos de Toro Muerto.

Traveling by car from Puno to Arequipa takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Plan for somewhat warmer nights when traveling from Puno in January since evenings lows in Arequipa dip to 13°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Thu) so you can travel to Cusco.

Traveling by flight from Arequipa to Cusco takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Arequipa in January, plan for slightly colder nights in Cusco, with lows around 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) to allow time to travel to Paracas.

A port town largely devoted to tourism, Paracas serves as a popular starting point for exploration of Peru's south coast.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Supay Beach and Playa El Raspon. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Pukasoncco, Arte Precolombino. and Museo Arqueologico Paracas. Step out of Paracas with an excursion to Tambo Colorado in Humay--about 1h 10 min away. There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Playa Mendieta, examine the collection at Museo De Sitio Julio C Tello De Paracas, don't miss a visit to Plaza de Armas, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Playa de la Mina.

Traveling by flight from Cusco to Paracas takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. Plan for a bit warmer temperatures traveling from Cusco in January, with highs in Paracas at 31°C and lows at 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Thu) early enough to drive to Lima.

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Take a break from the city and head to Playa Santa Maria del Mar and El Silencio. Get a sense of the local culture at Museo Larco and Museo Pedro de Osma. Next up on the itinerary: shop like a local with Shopping Center Larcomar (Centro Comercial Larcomar), admire the masterpieces at Museo MATE, walk around Parque Alfredo Salazar, and contemplate the long history of Basilica y Monasterio de Santo Domingo.
