One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Anafiotika and Philopappos Hill. Acropolis of Athens and Theater of Dionysus will appeal to history buffs. Step out of Athens with an excursion to Asteras Glyfada Beach in Glyfada--about 32 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: get engrossed in the history at Acropolis Museum, take a stroll through Plaka, explore the ancient world of Temple of Hephaestus, and enjoy the sand and surf at Glyfada Beach.

On the 5th (Thu), pause for some serene contemplation at Monastery of Timios Prodromos, then kick back and relax at Glisteri Beach, then look for gifts at Ambrosia Pasticceria, and finally hike along Skopelos Walks.
