Curtea de Argeș is a city in Romania on the right bank of the Argeş River, where it flows through a valley of the lower Carpathians (the Făgăraș Mountains), on the railway from Pitești to the Turnu Roșu Pass. Transfagarasan Highway has been added to your itinerary. Step out of Curtea de Arges to go to Arefu and see Cetatea Poienari, which is approximately 34 minutes away. The adventure continues: contemplate the waterfront views at Balea Glacier Lake, see human ingenuity at work at Vidraru Dam, pause for some serene contemplation at Princely Church of St Nicholas, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Curtea de Arges Monastery.
