Often described as the city of laptops and lederhosen, Munich is an international center of business, engineering, research, and medicine that still maintains a rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Schloss Nymphenburg and Deutsches Museum. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Hirschbachtobel Bad Hindelang and Starzlachklamm. Get out of town with these interesting Munich side-trips: Skydiving (in Oberstdorf), Eibsee (in Grainau) and Alpseebad (in Hohenschwangau). One of Poland's oldest cities, Krakow sits at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, its historical town center nestled on the left bank of the Vistula River.
Step off the beaten path and head to Stare Miasto and Miedzybrodzkie Lake. Get outdoors at Nature & Wildlife Tours and Wieliczka Salt Mine.
