Reykjavik, Iceland to Rome is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of car and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Reykjavik to Rome. Traveling from Reykjavik in June, you will find days in Rome are much hotter (34°C), and nights are somewhat warmer (21°C). Finish up your sightseeing early on the 18th (Tue) so you can go by car to Montalcino.

Head to Mercato Centrale and La Bottega del Produttorefor some retail therapy. Step out of Florence with an excursion to Castello del Trebbio in Santa Brigida--about 36 minutes away. There's still lots to do: explore the world behind art at Uffizi Galleries, snap pictures at Ponte Vecchio, see the interesting displays at Pitti Palace, and take in panoramic vistas at Campanile di Giotto.
