Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Explore Lisbon's surroundings by going to Sintra (Quinta da Regaleira, Park and National Palace of Pena, & more). Dedicate the 8th (Sat) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. Spend the 13th (Thu) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. The adventure continues: admire nature's wide array of creatures at Lisbon Oceanarium, admire the striking features of Jeronimos Monastery, make a trip to Santa Justa Lift, and take in the exciting artwork at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian.

Sao Paulo, Brazil to Lisbon is an approximately 14-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 3 hours traveling from Sao Paulo to Lisbon. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Sao Paulo in June: highs in Lisbon hover around 32°C, while lows dip to 18°C. You will have some time to spend on the 17th (Mon) before leaving for Porto.

On the 17th (Mon), get lost in a book at Livraria Lello, contemplate the long history of Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), and then take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I.

Fly from Lisbon to Porto in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. When traveling from Lisbon in June, plan for slightly colder days and about the same nights in Porto: temperatures range from 26°C by day to 16°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Tue) early enough to drive to Santiago de Compostela.

On the 18th (Tue), admire the striking features of Monasterio de San Martin Pinario, don't miss a visit to Botafumeiro, make a trip to Hostal dos Reis Católicos, then make a trip to Plaza del Obradoiro, then don't miss a visit to Palacio de Raxoi, and finally take in the spiritual surroundings of Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
