A symbol of the Incan civilization, the abandoned city of Machu Picchu represents a must-see on a Peru vacation.
Step off the beaten path and head to Sacred Valley of the Incas and Intipuncu. Get a sense of the local culture at Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu and Choquequirao Archeological Park. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Machu Picchu: Qosqo Ayllu (in Ollantaytambo), Ruinas de Choquequirao (in Cachora) and Moray (in Maras). There's lots more to do: explore the ancient world of Winay Wayna, look for gifts at Mapi Art, and take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia Virgen Del Carmen.

Brasilia, Brazil to Machu Picchu is an approximately 14- hour combination of flight, bus, and train. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and car. You'll gain 2 hours traveling from Brasilia to Machu Picchu due to the time zone difference. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Fri) so you can travel to Santiago.

Kick off your visit on the 8th (Sat): view the masterpieces at E.N.D. Espacio Nacional de Diseno and then browse the exhibits of Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania. On the 9th (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: admire the masterpieces at Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, then see the interesting displays at La Chascona, and then take an in-depth tour of Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos.

With a rich cultural scene and plenty of developed beaches, Montevideo vacations appeal to a growing number of visitors from around the world.
Explore hidden gems such as 1972 Museum and Walking tours. Get some cultural insight at Catedral de Montevideo and Palacio Taranco. Explore the numerous day-trip ideas around Montevideo: Piriapolis (Playa Hermosa & Playa Punta Colorada), Punta Ballena (Playa Solanas & Playa Punta Ballena) and Maldonado (Playa Portezuelo & Playa Chihuahua). Cultural capital of South America, Buenos Aires remains one of the largest cities on the continent, serving as a point of departure for exploring the rest of the country.
Head to Puerto Madero and Galerias Pacificofor plenty of shopping. Your inner history buff will appreciate Cemiterio de Recoleta and Catedral de la Plata. When in Buenos Aires, make a side trip to see Museo de La Plata in La Plata, approximately La Plata away. There's much more to do: take in nature's colorful creations at Parque 3 de Febrero, pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral Primada, examine the collection at Museo Del Bicentenario, and admire the masterpieces at Museo Nacional De Arte Decorativo.

You can ride a ferry from Montevideo to Buenos Aires in 2.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or do a combination of flight and shuttle. In August, daily temperatures in Buenos Aires can reach 20°C, while at night they dip to 12°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
