Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Igreja de Sao Domingos (Santa Justa e Rufina) and Santo Antonio de Lisboa. Get some cultural insight at Palácio Nacional da Ajuda and Palacio Nacional de Mafra. Faro

The most well-known city in the Algarve, Faro boasts a cliffside location with popular beaches and a thriving cultural scene.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Cerro da Vila and Castelo de Mertola. Popular historic sites such as Arc of Repouso and Muralhas de Faro are in your itinerary. Take a break from Faro with a short trip to Praia de Cacela Velha in Vila Nova de Cacela, about 48 minutes away. Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Casa de Tormes - Museu Queirosiano and Casa do Infante. Do some cultural sightseeing at Ponte da Barca and MMIPO - Museu da Misericordia do Porto. Explore Porto's surroundings by going to Granaries of Lindoso (in Ponte da Barca) and Sao Bento da Porta Aberta (in Terras de Bouro). There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Statue of Prince Henry the Navigator, step into the grandiose world of Castle of the Cheese, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja Paroquial de San Nicolau, and admire the striking features of Farol Molhe do Douro.
