Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Food Tours and Duomo di Orvieto. Change things up with a short trip to Cascata delle Marmore in Marmore (about 1h 40 min away).
