Malta's capital city, Valletta preserves most of its medieval architecture, built in the 16th and 17th centuries by the Knights Hospitaller, once a powerful military order.
Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): take in the history at Lascaris War Rooms, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. John's Co-Cathedral, take in nature's colorful creations at Upper Barrakka Gardens, then explore the world behind art at Casa Rocca Piccola, and finally steep yourself in history at Parrocca San Pawl Nawfragu. On the 18th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: witness the site of a historic battle at Saluting Battery, learn about all things military at Fort St Elmo - National War Museum, explore the ancient world of Mnajdra, then Head underground at Blue Grotto (Il-Hnejja), and finally take in the waterfront at Valletta Waterfront.
