Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Explore hidden gems such as Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta Spoleto and Duomo di Orvieto. Change things up with these side-trips from Rome: Villa d'Este (in Tivoli), Ponte delle Torri (in Spoleto) and Cascata delle Marmore (in Marmore). There's lots more to do: steep yourself in history at Colosseum, make a trip to St. Peter's Basilica, admire the masterpieces at Vatican Museums, and get engrossed in the history at Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini.
