Eternal City

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
You'll explore and learn at Vatican Museums and Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant'Angelo. Escape the urban bustle at Catacombs of Saint Callixtus and V Lounge Beach Club. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of St. Peter's Basilica, delve into the distant past at Palatine Hill, ponder the design of Trevi Fountain, and visit Trastevere.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport and Perugia San Francesco d'Assisi – Umbria International Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Rome can reach 89°F, while at night they dip to 70°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
