Once the capital of Dutch Brazil, Recife has a history spanning back to 1537, when it was little more than a handful of fishing houses on the beach.
Your day-by-day itinerary now includes Se Cathedral as well as CAIXA Cultural Recife. Start off your visit on the 17th (Thu): examine the collection at Fundacao Joaquim Nabuco, see the interesting displays at Oficina Ceramica Francisco Brennand, then see the interesting displays at Instituto Ricardo Brennand, then head off the coast to Coroa do Aviao Beach, and finally catch a live performance at CAIXA Cultural Recife. Keep things going the next day: pause for some serene contemplation at Se Cathedral and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Recife Antigo.
