Venture out of the city with trips to National Forest of Bussaco (in Luso) and Cascata da Pedra da Ferida (in Penela). Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Dedicate the 12th (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: snap pictures at Ponte de Dom Luis I, get into the urban bustle at Palacio da Bolsa, relax and float downstream with a rafting and tubing tour, and admire the masterpieces at Museu Serralves.

Take a train from Coimbra to Porto in an hour. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or drive. In June, daytime highs in Porto are 26°C, while nighttime lows are 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 20th (Thu) early enough to drive to Nazare.

Nazaré is a town and a municipality in subregion Oeste and Leiria District, in Portugal.It is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Silver Coast/Costa de Prata, Portugal. Venture out of the city with trips to Obidos (Lagoa de Obidos, Porta da Senhora da Piedade (Porta da Vila), &more). Next up on the itinerary: get great views at Monte de Sao Bartolomeu, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré, pause for some serene contemplation at Ermida da Memoria, and make a trip to O Sitio.
