The most populous city in the state after New York, Buffalo serves as the gateway to Niagara Falls and Canada for many travelers.
Start off your visit on the 20th (Sat): admire the landmark architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin House Complex, then steep yourself in history at Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, and then learn about all things military at Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park.

Visit 9/11 Memorial and Ellis Island for their historical value. Kids will enjoy The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park.
