Quito

— 7 nights

Light of America

High in the Andean foothills, Quito remains one of the world's most photogenic capital cities, featuring two dramatic mountain ranges as its backdrop.
Venture out of the city with trips to Cuicocha (in Cotacachi), Cascada de Peguche (in Peguche) and Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve (in Calacali). There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Museo Templo del Sol Pintor Ortega Maila, deepen your understanding at La Ronda, make a trip to Mitad Del Mundo, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Quito Old Town.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Mariscal Sucre International Airport and Cotopaxi International Airport. In August, daily temperatures in Quito can reach 27°C, while at night they dip to 15°C.
