9 days in Foz do Iguacu & Asuncion Itinerary

A gateway to the world-renowned Iguacu Falls, which spectacularly divide Brazil and Argentina, the modern, high-rise city of Foz do Iguacu can't help but play second fiddle to the natural wonder in its vicinity.

Visit Buddhist Temple and Mosque of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab for their historical value. You'll explore and learn at Museu de Cera Dreamland and Itaipu Ecomuseu. Change things up with a short trip to Sao Miguel do Iguacu Historic Municipal Museum in Sao Miguel do Iguacu (about 1h 5 min away). There's still lots to do: take in the dramatic scenery at Iguazu Falls, admire nature's wide array of creatures at Parque das Aves Bird Park, browse the different shops at Cataratas JL Shopping, and see human ingenuity at work at Itaipu Dam.

Belo Horizonte to Foz do Iguacu is an approximately 7-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In July, Foz do Iguacu is slightly colder than Belo Horizonte - with highs of 25°C and lows of 13°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to travel to Asuncion.

The adventure continues: get a taste of the local shopping with Shopping del Sol, admire the masterpieces at Museo Etnografico Andres Barbero, don't miss a visit to Plaza de las Americas, and browse the different shops at Paseo La Galeria.
