Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass

Castle Garden Must See
A privately owned castle on the border of England and Scotland, Muncaster Castle is said to have a resident ghost. Before the sun sets and the ghost begins to wander, visit the castle's interior, still partially occupied by the same family that has owned it since 1208. The great hall and 14th-century watchtower, emblematic of the region's castle architecture, are highlights of the tour. Also on the grounds are an owl sanctuary, a maze, and landscaped gardens. Buy your tickets at the castle. You can stay on the grounds at the Coachman's Quarters lodging.
