Disneyland Park, Anaheim
The "happiest place on earth," Disneyland Park consists of eight themed "lands" and a number of backstage areas. As you explore the 34 hectares (85 acres), you'll encounter roller coasters and boat rides, indoor and outdoor games, live shows, award-winning eateries, and a range of eclectic shops. If you'd rather not walk everywhere, stop at all eight lands via the narrow-gauge railroad that circumnavigates the park. As you travel through the magical worlds dreamed up by Disney, look for hidden representations of Mickey Mouse inserted subtly into the attractions' design and environmental decor. Conceived and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney, this amusement park boasts the largest cumulative attendance of any theme park in the world--having welcomed more than 650 million visitors since it opened in 1955. It also gave rise to its relative, Disney World, in Florida. Put Disneyland Park into our Anaheim trip planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.
Disneyland Park Reviews
This was our first visit to Disneyland after two previous visits to DW. We felt slightly cheated as they were refurbishing the castle and it was closed down, however, we had a great time. We did the a... more »
I wish they had better food/restaurant choices, but the attractions make up for this deficit so it's all good. more »
The park is still enchanting. Cinderella's castle is under construction. It was packed with people who kept their smiles despite long lines. The ticket sales person didn't adequately explain the fast pass. Only certain attractions have this option. You can only use it once every two hours. Yes it is included with your ticket price, but to activate it you have to go to the attraction to scan the ticket to get a reserved time slot. The advantage of paying $15/ticket for this option is you can reserve via your app without having to maneuver through the crowds. If we understood this we would have paid the extra $. The app also lets you order food to go another time saver. Tip, around parade times wait times drop for some attractions, but road crossings are limited and can delay your ability to get where you want to go. Tip 2 you can bring your own food and drinks in plastic. We really enjoyed our visit.😁
Everyone who's been here knows how great the park is. The attention to detail in nearly every aspect is amazing. My only feedback to Disneyland, on this visit, is I was surprised how many rides were having trouble. We were on two of them when they shut down. One of them for an extended amount of time. We were either in line or on our way to 3 others when it was announced they were broken / down also. We've never had that happen since coming here. It's difficult when we travel long distances to be here. Disney doesn't discount ticket prices based on the overall functionality of the park (nor are refunds issued to my knowledge) so my expectations are since I paid 100% of the price, the park is also at 100%. I do understand, however that machines do break from time to time. All in all we love it here and will likely return. Everyone should experience Disneyland at least once. Preferably when you're old enough to remember it. :-)
