Here you really hear Italian talk among the people and at the covered market you can enjoy a good espresso or have traditional ham sandwiches prepared. Impractical to get to from Manhattan by public transport but worth it.
I’m living near it but it’s the most calm, relaxing, safest, places you can find. While also having amazing food but , to be honest it seems more Spanish than anything. But still the best place in Bronx
Being Italian, I really love this area. There are some great spots to get pastries. The restaurants here are also great; tons of different variation. As far as comparing it to the Little Italy in Manhattan, it does not seem nearly as touristy. There are not a bunch of cheap souvenir shops around every corner, so that is nice.
