Start your tour of Chicago at Millennium Park, considered one of the largest roof gardens in the world. Sitting atop a railroad yard and a network of underground parking garages, the park features several artistic highlights, most notably the popular "Bean," a legume-shaped, stainless-steel sculpture designed by artist Anish Kapoor. The sculpture's surfaces reflect and distort the city's skyline, making it a favorite backdrop for photographs. Don't miss the 15 m (50 ft) video sculpture/fountain, composed of black granite and light-emitting diodes that display digital images of Chicagoans puckering their lips and appearing to spit water. In chicago you got to stop and see it . it was very crowed but then again it was the weekend . Millennium park is not just the bean it as alot of the things offer you will enjoy it more »
One of the greatest artistic attractions. It was a short walk from my hotel to see these beautiful pieces of art. Pictures don't do it justice. 'The Bean,' in particular, is awe-inspiring. To see my own reflection change as I walk closer and away from 'The Bean' changes my perspective on how I relate to the city around me. The Millennium Park is a must-see if you're a tourist in town.
One of the most amazing parks in the area! One can enjoy the outdoors art that this nicely built park offers. Walk it, jog it, run it or sit on a bench and delight yourself with this modern wonder. The cloud gate it's the star of the show here. Don't let it distract you from the wide open theater, glass towers that demonstrate a light and reality spectacle. The arquitecture that can be admired and contemplate it's also one of the many perks this modern wonder offers to locals and outsiders. Enjoy!
