Famous as the spot on the cover of the U2 album "The Joshua Tree," Zabriskie Point is a geological curiosity formed by sediment from a dried-up lake. Thermal waters gave it color, and wind and lava shaped its erosion patterns. This location is named after Christian Zabriskie, vice-president of the Borax company, which had mining operations in Death Valley. The sun makes high-contrast shadows on the formations, which change over the course of the day. Zabriskie Point Reviews
la chaleur ne permet pas de faire une grande vadrouille donc la petite montée de quelques dizaines de mètres vous semble déjà un effort exceptionnel mais pour les 5mn de marche cela en vaut la peine. ... more »the heat does not allow to make a big mop so the small climb of a few tens of meters already seems an exceptional effort but for the 5 minutes walk it is worth it. it is beautiful and makes us say that the valley of death deserves to be stopped instead of just crossing it.
Si vous partez sur vegas prenez le temps de vous arrêter.... Paysage splendide.. chaud mais la montée a pied est rapide. more »If you go on vegas take the time to stop.... Splendid landscape. hot but the climb on foot is fast.
Love the scenic view from this point. It's a must visit point in death valley and hard to miss it. Located near to furnace Creek springs. Wheelchair chair accessible point. It's a unique view point in death valley with white and yellow sediments all over the small mountains. Views are incredible from here. Parking is available.
The geography is beautiful both to the eye and to your heart and spirit. It is a short little hike up to nice viewing point you can see the variety of geographical forms that exist. If you choose to go for a further hike bring along some water and some good shoes enjoy the experience.
