Stranahan House Reviews
I had a wonderful tour with a guide that was personable and gave such wonderfully detailed information. I would definitely suggest this museum. It was wonderful to see history still vibrantly alive. more »
The Stranahan House dating back to early 20 cent stands right on the Riverwalk in Ft. Lauderdale downtown. It's right close to the water taxi station. We didn''t do the tour, but it was interesting..... more »
The other reviews have said it well. If you are interested in the history of Ft Lauderdale and a lot of really good stories, make sure you do this tour. I was expecting much less actually. I have done other older home tours and all you see is a lot of old furnishings really but this one you get a lot of history, detail on the people that lived there and the structure itself. They explain why it has survived all the hurricanes. John is 79 and is the handy man and also tells first hand stories of Mrs. Stranahan who lived to be very old.
John that works there is an amazing person he loves that place the history is part of Fort Lauderdale you should record all the things he knows he's an asset to your place thank you John incredible the 80 years old your spirit is amazing
