  • Mark twain built a beautiful Victorian mansion on Farmington ave in Hartford Connecticut, twain wrote of all the city's I have had the pleasure of visiting Hartford is chief! I wish I could show twain Hartford today I'm surprised Connecticut does not tax the air we breathe, anyway this place is definitely worth a visit, they give you a tour of the whole house, he had the first telephone in Hartford, my favorite room is the billiard room, beautiful absolutely beautiful, a slate billiard table, mounts he killed and put on his wall, twain wrote huckleberry Finn in that house, unfortunately his son Landon caught cold on a sleigh ride and died, twain could not stand the place after that sold the house moved to Elmira new York where he eventually died and is buried there, if your in Hartford you can't miss this!!! Historic and educational.
  • I love the Mark Twain House. It takes you back to the glory days of Hartford. It has been wonderfully restored and maintained. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and you can tell that they take great pride in their work. They also host special events like The Mouth. The gift store and museum sections are very nice. Mark Twain loved cats as well, so that’s always a positive in my book. 👍
