Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum holds 60 million pages of documents, 1.6 million photographs, over 150 km (95 mi) of motion picture film, a piece of the Berlin wall, and a presidential airplane. Read, watch, or listen about Reagan's life and work. Walk onboard a Boeing 707 used as Air Force One and see his 1965 Ford Mustang. Take a peek into the replica of the presidential Oval Office, and note how the president Reagan had his desk altered to prevent the drawers from hitting his long legs. If you feel overwhelmed by the 22,600 sq m (243,000 sq ft) of space, take a guided tour. A cafe, a pub, and a store are on site. If you wish, you can have your own ocean-view picnic at the visitors' park. Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum Reviews
Our visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum was part of our Holiday Vacations Pasadena tour. I am not a big fan of Ronal Reagan, but I admit he did some good things for this... more »
We have been here about 3 or 4 time before but while in CA, wanted to see the damage from the wild fire plus we wanted to get our relatively new Presidential Library Passports stamped. The young... more »
This place is awesome. What a wonderful time capsule awaits you inside. Situated on top of a mountain with 360° views of Simi Valley and all the surrounding rolling hills, the Reagan Library is a superb way to spend a day. The grounds are immaculate. The library architecture is modeled after his country ranch. With picnic grounds overlooking the valley, and highway 101 leading to Ventura County, you can relax while enjoying a hot meal cooked to order. Or if you prefer, you can grab a cold meal, with wine or beer, and dine in the breathtaking Air Force I Pavilion. The Library is FULL of items, such as the Presidential china sets, the motorcade, the actual 737 AF1 jetliner, and tons of artifacts from Reagan's life. Nancy gets her fair share of representation too. There are always major events going on such as book signings from famous people in politics, to historical exhibits from throughout the world, to formal dinner dances, and holiday parties. I HIGHLY recommend getting a membership as you will want to come back again and again.
Volunteers are SUPER friendly. Food is great (a bit pricey though). Gift shop is reasonably priced. This is a pretty good museum. They do a great job explaining Reagans life. The air force one exhibit is a must see.
