We enjoyed our visit! I used to shuttle people from New Orleans to the various plantations, for over 6 years. I had never stopped at Saint Joseph's. No 'flash" and "pizzazz", or overly commercialized presentations like Oak Alley or some others. Our guide was knowledgeable, informative, and intuitive. She didn't rush us along, encouraged us to look at the exhibits and take pictures, and took time to answer our questions. She made us feel like guests in her own home. There is a brief presentation about the history of sugar cane in Louisiana, and a wonderful tour of the main home. There are several other buildings on the grounds to explore. I recommend a stop. My only regret is that we didn't take more pictures.
Really loved this tour! I thought it would make me uncomfortable & I wouldn't like it, but I was happily proved wrong. Our tour guide was wonderful! I'm pretty sure his name was Jacob. He is a great tour guide & really made me feel welcome bc I'm a local as well as those visiting from out of state!
