Fundacao Projeto Tamar - Fernando de Noronha
Fundacao Projeto Tamar - Fernando de Noronha will introduce you to the sea turtle, whose flippers and big eyes are sure to touch your heart. The project began as a research center that studied the behavior of the turtle, but along the way scientists uncovered significant damage from poachers and other habitat destruction. So, the project evolved into a program that preserves sea turtle habitats and educates visitors on habitat preservation. At the visitor’s center, you will see baby turtles propelling themselves through the water in manmade pools as they practice with their flippers. A guide from the center will teach you about the behavior of the sea turtle, which you'll observe in the shell-toting occupants that swim in the protected waters nearby. The habitat also doubles as an aquarium, sheltering shark species and other aquatic life that share the turtles natural habitat. Our Fernando de Noronha tour planning tool makes visiting Fundacao Projeto Tamar - Fernando de Noronha and other Fernando de Noronha attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Incredibly complicated. Excessively restrictive in terms of activities available on the island. Pretty much 80% of the interesting stuff is closed off or you can only visit one beach per day or you need a guide to accompany you on a 5km walk and costs $50USD. Disappointing after all the money you spend yo get to the island in terms of fees and taxes which they could just use to employ park rangers but it feels like this island is set up to exploit travellers for the most amount of money possible.

An important project, that tries to share impressions with the tourists while keeping the natural system intact and which deserves 5 stars. The hiking trail Capim Açu is impressive. Unfortunately I was pretty much on my own finding a guide, who was obligatory, that could guide me in English. Please improve your system. Do not seperate the guide system from the rest and make it easier for foreigners.
