Zoo Bosque Guarani, a free zoo, is home to a large collection of exotic birds and butterflies. Located just across from the city’s main bus terminal, the zoo is part of Parque das Aves (Bird Park) and is easily accessible by a short walk from the region’s famed waterfalls. Thriving under protection of expert scientists are several types of wild parrots, macaques, macaws, peacocks, turtles, and rheas. You can see these tropical species in their big cages, in a jungle setting typical to their natural environment. Bring your camera and stop by the large pond where the caiman idles away his days. Put Zoo Bosque Guarani on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Foz do Iguacu road trip site.

  • Nice place, free entrance, many species in danger of extinction. All surrounded by a magnificent guaraní natural forest. You can visit it all in 1 or 2 hours top.
  • Great Little zoo in falls. It is no cost because it is run by the state. Beautiful little walk-through area. I really enjoyed seeing the animals
