Morro da Cruz, Itajai

Although not the highest point on the island of Santa Catarina, at 285 m (935 ft), Morro da Cruz (Hill of the Cross) is the most accessible and it provides an almost complete panorama of the entire island. Looking out from the platform by the cross for which the hill is named, you can see the two bays, the bridges Hercílio Luz, Colombo Salles, and Pedro Ivo Campos, the neighborhood Trindade, part of the east coast of Florianópolis, and, of course, the vast Atlantic Ocean, surrounding the island.
