Ilha Fiscal is an island in Guanabara Bay, bordering the historic city center of Rio de Janeiro, in southeastern Brazil.Originally named by Europeans as Ilha dos Ratos (Rat Island), its current name comes from the fact there have worked since the Guarda Fiscal, serving the port of the then capital of the Empire in the nineteenth century. The organisation is terrible. Tried three times to visit the ilha fiscal. Either the island is closed or the boat is not functioning or something... And it's never on the website, impossible to use the website. Good grief. Can't book tickets on the website, no English support, times are all over the place...it's poor. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating but the organisation is poor.
