The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian
The seat of a Roman Catholic archdiocese, The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian boasts a celebrated modern design inspired by Mayan pyramids. Dedicated to the city's patron saint, the cathedral features four long strips of colorful stained glass windows, spanning 64 m (210 ft) from the floor to the illuminated cross on the ceiling. The building's construction started in the mid-1960s and took 15 years to complete. Step inside to see the awe-inspiring interior: stripped of any excessive decoration, the spacious hall can accommodate nearly 20,000. Approaching the cathedral from the outside it looks like an upside down concrete funnel from a futuristic film. However inside the stained glass is pretty impressive.

What an interesting cathedral! It is so strange from the outside that you can't wait to see what's inside and when you do it's quite a scene. The stained glass is lovely and it's so cool and quiet there, though as is typical, people often aren't as respectful and reverent as they should be in a church.

Beautiful and super unique church. Right next to a lovely street market! Make sure not to head to the Basilica instead as they have the same name on some maps.
