Create an itinerary including Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
Conveniently located in the center of the city, Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek houses the personal art collection of beer baron Carl Jacobsen. The eclectic museum boasts the largest collection of Rodin sculptures outside of France, as well works by masters like Picasso, Leger, and Matisse. Although antique sculptures serve as a kind of focal point for most visitors, this museum also contains one of the world's biggest collections of paintings by Paul Gauguin. An added treat for art lovers, the venue features a glass-domed conservatory housing a small cafe that serves light dishes and cakes. Take a self-guided tour of the collection, or attend one of the museum's special concert performances. Plan my Copenhagen trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • Great museum with lots of sculpture and paintings. A few key holdings like Monet and Corbet in the French section. Can be done in half a day, full day of you love the collection a lot and want to linger. Cafe is good for coffee and pastry, but light on other options.
  • Very nice museum with a lot of interesting and beautiful paintings and sculptures, you definitely need to set aside a day to see everything. The museum is conveniently located and they have free entrance on Tuesdays, which is very nice. You can't access with bags but they have a locker room (to close a locker you'll need a special token OR a DKK 20 coin. There's a machine where you can buy tokens. At the end of the day when you open the locker you get your coin/token back and you can exchange the token to get your money back). Inside the museum you can take a break with a nice cup of coffee or something to eat, while you relax and look at the beautiful garden.
