Create an itinerary including Altos de Chavon
Visit a rustic Mediterranean village in the heart of the Dominican Republic at Altos de Chavon. Built in the late 1970s, the replica of a 16th century European-style village was designed by Dominican architect Jose Antonio Caro and Italian artist Roberto Coppa. Roam the charming cobblestone streets and quaint courtyards, admiring the shops, galleries, and restaurants that look as if they’ve been there for centuries. Don't miss the amphitheater, a venue that has hosted many famous performers. You can relax in a cafe and enjoy the picturesque vista, purchase authentic art pieces, or pay a visit to the archaeology museum. • It's closed if you're not staying at Casa de Campo! Don't try to go there on your own. You will be sent away. There is no information about this on the website. It's due to covid-19 but it's still quite annoying not have any information about this anywhere.
  • A hidden gem in Casa de Campo. Lots of good restaurants, a great cafe, and beautiful atmosphere. It feels like you have gone back in time. Beautiful during the day and at night. Make sure not to miss the coliseum it is a bit off the main path but built with epic proportions.
