Bayerisches Nationalmuseum features a collection of decorative art, with strong representations from the medieval to early modern periods. The collection is split into two groups: folklore and historical art. Keep an eye out for the carved ivory, textiles, glass painting, and tapestry pieces, which are popular with visiting art enthusiasts. English isn't often offered in descriptions, so hire a tour guide if you'd like detailed information. The collection of furniture and religious art was so well lit and presented, I was there almost by myself and felt a part of the culture.

Most amazing museum in Munich. All from Bavaria and it goes on and on with amazing exhibits. They have these chairs (see photo) available for free use for when your feet get tired from all the walking. Many great rooms to see in a amazingly large building.
This is a beautifully kept museum. They have a large collection of different nativity scenes, these scenes are displayed with handcrafted and painted mini figures/statues, which are each magnificent piece of art! There is a large area of medieval suits of armor which is mind blowing to see the craftsmanship and the weight of these suits. Check it out if you are in Munich, it's a look into the history of Bavarian past.
