A visit to the sacred complex of Ise Grand Shrine allows you to discover a series of Shinto sacred sites centered on two main temples. The 125 shrines date back to the 4th century BCE and are hugely popular pilgrimage spots, visited by millions of devotees each year. The most visited is the Inner Shrine, or "Naiku," which is traditionally rebuilt every twenty years. As you approach this temple, take a moment to appreciate the peaceful ambience, scenic forested setting, and the simple architecture of the wooden shrine buildings. • I've been too many shrines and temples in Japan over the years, but I have to admit this was the most beautiful one I think I've ever seen. Mainly because of the size and Dynamics. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Definitely worth the stop. There's a station right in front of the main shrine
  • This shrine is the most important place for Japanese. Do not go without respect. Please wear decent clothes. Do not speak loudly. You can feel something good, feel ancient culture.
