    This little chapel is so charming. It is down below the castle and works well with it to create a whole landscape of loveliness. Inside is stark but noble. Come and take a photo like we did.

    You can’t help but see this small, simple Romanesque church that sits between the castle and palace. Consecrated in 1239, it is dedicated to Saint Michael. Legend says that inside is the baptismal...

    Small chapel about two minute walk from either the castle or the palace. Inside there is a tomb. The significance of this chapel was its claim to the baptism of the king Alfonzo Henriques, Who is the first king started Portugal. There’s no admission to see the chapel. However the chapel is only open from 9:30 to 5 PM every day for viewing inside. Otherwise you can always view the external construction of the chapel anytime of the day.
