See more than 450 species of marine life at the biggest indoor aquarium in Europe, Lisbon Oceanarium. Peter Chermayeff designed this massive oceanarium, which opened to the public in 1998, so visitors could learn about native and foreign flora, fauna, and wildlife. View more than 16,000 creatures, including sunfish, penguins, birds, sea otters, sharks, jellyfish, and rays. You'll also find activities for children of all ages. Take a guided tour, participate in a workshop, or sleep overnight with the sharks. My favorite part was the layout! The designers have created a terrific space to display all the marine wildlife. It's huge and so easy to tour --- just wander from one big room to the next...

I wasn't sure about visiting here as wherever you go there's an aquarium.. but we went for it and don't regret it. It's large, there were ample loos and a restaurant too. There's the central tank...

Fantastic aquarium, one of the best I have visited anywhere in the world. Lots of fish, colourful and healthy, and tanks are clean and well cared for. Like all Portuguese people, Staff is super friendly and professional, we all speak more than one language. I highly recommend the gift shop, amazing T-shirts. If you can give a contribution to help care for the aquarium vs animals please do so ! The tickets is only €19 for adults but is well below price in comparison to smaller and less diverse aquarium I visited so is quite cost accessible. You have unique experiences packages. I love it and highly recommend the visit.

Highly recommend. Great value for €19 and well worth it for a full day out you can go on the cable cars nearby and get nice views of the river for an extra €6 euros . Great for families. You walk around the different geographic areas from above and then you get to see the lovely sea creatures below in their habitats. There was also a separate film shown in an imax type cinema. The sea dragons are especially beautiful. The sea otters and funny penguins were super cute . A great day out.
