Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral)
Visit Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), one of the country's prime Romanesque monuments, featuring two square towers supported by a counterfort, a baroque porch, and a gothic chapel. Apart from being the largest church, this cathedral is also among the oldest monuments in the city. The site served as a wedding spot of King John I, and Prince Henry the Navigator was baptized at the site. Dating back to the 12th century, the structure you see today was finalized in 1737. See its Gothic cloisters featuring blue and white Baroque tiles, check out an art collection within, and look for the silver-adorned altarpiece held in the chapel. Simply lovely. We took the 2:30 tour in English. It takes you in to the choir loft (fabulous) and a few other small chapels. Also the small musuem. Loved it!

I personally got deeply surprised by this fantastic historical place. The unbelievably beautiful architecture of this church will absolutely make you surprised. Porto is very beautiful city. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to get in the church, but we’ll make sure we do it next time. Outside, the Cathedral looks impressive and it sits on the very top of the hill, so the views are just fantastic. From there you can go down to the river following those charming narrow streets.
