One of many notable city structures designed by famed architect Antoni Gaudí, Parc Guell is a garden complex built between 1900 and 1914. World Heritage–listed, this complex is noted for being one of the largest architectural structures in this part of Europe. Though it features some of the finest examples of Gaudí’s creativity, for many visitors the highlight is not the exquisite architecture, but the sweeping views. Just inside the main entrance is the interpretive visitor center, featuring an exhibit about Gaudí’s building methods, as well as displays on the history of the park. Wooded and laced with footpaths, the park attracts over 4 million visitors each year. The park can be reached on foot, but if you wish to avoid a vigorous uphill walk, hitch a ride on the public bus. As always Gaudí emblematic ideas are in all the buildings. Nice park with lots of green areas and playgrounds. A little crowded and the queues to the woman’s bathroom are always huge.

Take the guided tour around Park Guell and discover what was originally intended for this site. Once again you can see how Gaudi embraces nature in his designs. The guided tour is so well worth it.

The entrance area is very beautiful, although it is so busy. The ticket system says people need to go in as their chosen time slots. Don't feel this is enforced. Another not so great thing is that there are only 2 bathrooms in the entire park. When I visited, one of them was even out of service! The house at the entrance is not worth going in at all. I thought there was some amazing interior designs. But there were just 2 or 3 TV/projectors showing photos. I waited 30 min just to see that! But the park is very beautiful! I just think there should be more facilities for people to use. There is also just one water fountain.

Beautiful park, nice example of modern style architecture and very beautiful flowers :) We have reached there with subway, but on the way back we have seen that bus connections were also very good to the city. I would also recommend buying tickets in advance, as this place becomes very crowded! It becomes a challenge to find a nice photo spot.
