Sao Paulo to Fortaleza is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Sao Paulo in March, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 29°C in Fortaleza. On the 5th (Tue), you'll travel to Sao Luis.

Located on the island of Ilha Upaon-Acu, state capital Sao Luis represents the largest city in Maranhao.
Sao Luis is known for historic sites, beaches, and sightseeing. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: contemplate the long history of Centro Histórico, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Igreja da Se, examine the collection at Casa da Festa, and pick up some local products at Feirinha Sao Luis.

You can fly from Fortaleza to Sao Luis in 3 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In April, plan for daily highs up to 36°C, and evening lows to 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly to Belem.

With its roots as the first European colony on the Amazon River, Belem has played an important part in the history of northern Brazil.
Belem is known for sightseeing, historic sites, and parks. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: make a trip to Estacao das Docas, pause for some serene contemplation at Nossa Senhora do Carmo Church, examine the collection at Museu do Cirio de Nazare, and stroll around Mangal das Garcas.
