Regent's Park, London

We walked through this wonderful park after visiting London Zoo (see separate review) initially and headed down the Broad Walk towards Chester Road. As a Royal Park it is beautifully maintained. We admired the ornamental water fountain and then stopped for a welcome cool drink at the Broad Walk Cafe along the way. There are lots of grassy areas full of picnickers’ on a sunny day, there are benches all along the Broad Walk to sit and people watch. It was lovely to see families with cycles, scooters and just walking, enjoying time together. We then crossed over to Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens. It must be spectacular in June when the roses are in full bloom. They are past their best now but you can still smell them. There is a small lake, waterfall and lots of different statues. Further along are the Avenue gardens, Jubilee gates and Regents Park Open Air Theatre. We did not see everything but were impressed by what we did see. We also found some toilets although they are well hidden! We visited the theatre in the evening which was amazing.

Very neat and tidy Nice assortment of brightly coloured flowers and well groomed lawn giving a pleasure to look on. Large, not crowded. Enough space for anyone to choose their own relaxing area, which provides that much needed peace and tranquility. For those who want to sit on chairs, there is enough to do that. Last but not least, well arranged trees adding to the beauty of the scenery. Excellent work!
