Minnewaska state park is a beautiful place for a hike. The trails are well kept and clearly marked. The topography of the area is unique. The park is in an area that was carved out as a glacier passed through. Beautiful rock outcrops and special mountain plants are always fun to look at. Just be careful there are rattlesnakes there so be mindful where you walk

Nick Connor is a wonderful park ranger who shared many insights about the animals in winter. My hubby and I took his educational program hike on Saturday Feb 12 for animal tracks via Peter Kill and shorter path back to parking. He helped us explore these woods and create beautiful memories. The park itself was gorgeous in winter with icy trails. Micro-spikes are highly recommended . Would definitely return here as the park staff are very sweet and helpful and the nature itself I relaxing. Overall great experience. Thank you Nick Connor.
